In corollary 2.9 the authors show that for a normed space X having finite cotype is equivalent to a bound on the size of the largest subset of any n-point metric space which can embed into X with a fixed distortion.

What is a geometric interpretation of cotype and how does it naturally relate to n-point metric spaces being embeddable?
