Following papers

Follow a Paper by providing us with a DOI or ArXiv ID. You'll be notified of any questions posted.

Claiming Authorship

You'll be notified of any questions posted and will be able to respond as a verified author.

Currently, there are two methods we support for verifying your authorship of a paper.

  1. a. Add an email that is listed on the paper (we'll send you a link to verify ownership), then
    b. Follow the paper. This second step is only necessary if the paper hasn't already been processed by our system. Following the paper will force our system to attempt to fetch and collect info about the paper.

  2. ORCiD logo Connect your ORCiD. This will automatically verify your authorship of any papers that ORCiD associates with you. Note that after redirecting, the site may appear to hang for a minute while your publications are processed.

We recommend authors do both, especially if they publish on ArXiv (as ArXiv makes our job easier, but ORCiD doesn't provide ArXiv identifiers). I.e. add your emails and connect your ORCiD as well.

A note on ORCiD and verifying authorship

In some cases, ORCiD only provides us with an internal Elsevier ID and there may be some delay in verifying your authorship of these works. You can help us speed up this process by going to your authored papers and clicking the symbol to suggest an alternative DOI or ArXiv ID for any paper without one.
